  • Today, the World Wide Web has taken the lead as the most effective platform for publishing and accessing information. The number of information sources available on the Internet is growing exponentially, which is causing a constant rise in the usage of the Internet for study and education. Free online information sources including e-books, e-journals, and e-databases have grown significantly during the past several years. A few decades ago, knowledge and information were transmitted slowly through manuscripts or word-of-mouth. Today, information may be quickly and widely disseminated since it can be transmitted from one user to an endless number of othersvia a variety of media and forms. This paper examines how St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology Patna Bihar students and faculty members use digital resources. 95.85% of library users at the Engineering and Management College are aware of digital resources. 63.21 percent of users searched online databases, favouring open-access journals. Many people had trouble finding computers, but they were content that libraries were available. E-resources are crucial for academic and research work, according to 65.28 percent of respondents, who prefer them because they are informative, accessible, and time-saving.   • Women play a critical role in the family which is the basic unit of a civilized society. The purpose of conducting this study was to assess the factors in which students of Bhangore-I block in the district of South 24 Parganas of West Bengal acquired knowledge, practice and were influenced by public services through public libraries in Bhangar-I Block. Kanyashree Prakalpa is an initiative of the West Bengal government aimed at improving the lives and conditions of young girls, improving their education, preventing child marriage and achieving economic status. The programme aims at reducing child labor or dropouts, violence against women, eliminate illiteracy, child marriage, and promote economic activities for economically weak students. The public library is the local centre of information, making all kinds of knowledge and information readily available to its users. The services of the public libraries are provided on the basis of equal access for all, regardless of age, race, sex, religion, nationality, language or social status. Public Library disseminates information for empowering the women. This study has shown that almost all variables play powerful roles in finding public libraries' activities to enhance women development through specified public services of Bhangar-I Community Development Block in South 24 Parganas District of West Bengal. The findings are used in various public services to empower women. Introduction Empowerment enables individuals to reach their full potential, improve their political and social participation, and inculcate a deep belief in the same as well as their ability. Women's empowerment is particularly difficult to achieve within a generation, as it depends not only on information about choices, but also on their acceptability. Unless women can help themselves, it is impossible to empower women.   • Kanyashree Prakapla is one of the most valuable public service schemes introduced by the Government of West Bengal to develop the lives and conditions of girl children in providing cash assistance especially for the economically backward families. The purpose of this study is to find out whether this pecuniary assistance of one time grant of Rs 25,000 is endowing the poor families with any other benefit apart from helping to arrange marriage of their girl children. With the aid of this grant the girl children from poor family background are able to continue their much needed studies. The main focus of this scheme is to reduce child labour, child marriage, school dropouts, to increase female literacy, and to ensure women empowerment. Public library is a place from where all types of information are disseminated. The main aim of this study is to find out whether public libraries are able to disseminate information about Kanyashree Prakalpa and other public service schemes to girl students of marginalized families in order to empower them.   • Empowering women refers to the process of enhancing their spiritual, political, social or economic status. This also includes the right to raise their level of confidence regarding their own capabilities. Women empowerment is a gateway to the development of a country. This study was conducted to assess the attitude, behaviors and factors of parents towards and through different public services taken by the Government of West Bengal and the role of Public Libraries in empowering women of Gosaba Community Development Block. Kanyashree Prakalpa is one of the most important public service schemes which enabled the implementation of a quality life among the girls entangled within the chains of pecuniary and social restrictions of the said area.
